What is Insight Auto-refresh?

The Insight Overview summarizes patterns, trends, and key metrics across all documents in a Collection. By default, this summary is generated once and updated when you add or remove documents.

With Auto-refresh, you can schedule the overview to regenerate on a recurring basis β€” so it stays current as your data changes without any manual intervention.

How to enable Auto-refresh

  1. Open a Collection and go to the Overview tab.

  2. Click the Auto-refresh toggle or settings icon.

  3. Choose a refresh schedule (e.g., daily, weekly).

  4. Click Save.

The overview regenerates automatically at the scheduled time. You can also trigger a manual refresh at any time.

How it works

  • Data fingerprinting β€” The system detects whether your Collection data has actually changed since the last refresh. If nothing changed, it skips the regeneration to save credits.

  • Notifications β€” When a scheduled refresh completes, you receive a notification so you know the overview is up to date.

  • Timezone β€” Refresh schedules follow your workspace timezone setting, which you can configure under Settings > Preferences.

When to use Auto-refresh

Scenario

Recommended

Collection with documents added weekly

Enable weekly refresh

Static archive that rarely changes

Keep Auto-refresh off to save credits

Active project with daily updates

Enable daily refresh

Credit usage

Each refresh consumes credits based on the number of documents and the complexity of the overview. The cost is the same as generating the overview manually. See the article Understanding Credits for details.
