How do I upgrade, downgrade, or cancel my plan?

Understand what happens when you change plans, how billing adjusts, and when refunds apply.

Upgrading your plan

  1. Go to Settings > Billing.

  2. Click Upgrade.

  3. Select the plan you want to move to and confirm.

When you upgrade mid-cycle, you receive a prorated credit allocation for the remaining days in your current billing period. The new subscription fee applies from the next billing cycle.

Downgrading your plan

  1. Go to Settings > Billing.

  2. Click Change Plan and select a lower-tier plan.

  3. Confirm the downgrade.

Your current plan's features remain active until the end of the billing cycle. At the next renewal, your workspace switches to the new plan with its lower credit allowance and feature set.

Cancelling your subscription

  1. Go to Settings > Billing.

  2. Click Cancel Subscription.

  3. Your paid plan remains active until the end of the current billing period.

  4. After the period ends, your workspace reverts to the Free plan.

Cancelling stops future charges immediately — you are not billed again. No partial refunds are issued for unused time within a billing cycle.

Refunds

Instill AI subscriptions are generally non-refundable. All payments are non-refundable except as expressly provided in the Subscription Terms or where required by applicable law.

EU, UK, and Turkey — 14-day right of withdrawal

If you are located in the European Union, United Kingdom, or Turkey, you may withdraw from your subscription within 14 days of purchase under local consumer protection laws. If you used the Services during the withdrawal period, a proportionate amount may be deducted.

To exercise this right, email [email protected] within 14 days of the charge with your account email and the date of the charge. Eligible refunds are processed within 14 days.

Goodwill refunds

In exceptional cases — such as an accidental purchase or duplicate charge — we may issue a one-time goodwill refund at our discretion. Email [email protected] with a description of what happened. Goodwill refunds are evaluated case by case and are not guaranteed.

How refunds are processed

  • Refunds are issued to the original payment method via Stripe.

  • Processing typically takes 5–10 business days depending on your bank.
